Marnix Jongebreur
Field Manager at BPM Company
Marnix: “I studied Business Economics. Halfway through my studies, I suddenly realized that this would likely lead to becoming an accountant—and that didn’t really suit me. I felt the need to broaden my perspective, which is how I ended up in IT. I wanted to explore what was possible there.
That ultimately became the common thread throughout my career: I’ve always worked in services related to IT. First at organizations that deliver, develop, and support standard software, and now at BPM Company on the custom-solution side, working with Pega.”
De kweekvijver
“My career began in the support department at Unit4. Support was a true breeding ground there: young people from a wide range of backgrounds joined and then moved on into roles in sales, development, or consultancy. Unit4 experienced strong growth—from a few dozen employees when I started to several thousand by the time I left.
I held various roles, including Supervisor Accountancy Support, Manager Services, and Support Manager. When I moved to De Heer Software as Manager Service & Support, that broad background proved extremely valuable.
I have always enjoyed helping people develop. Making them aware of their potential, ensuring they see and seize opportunities. I noticed that I was good at guiding them in this and supporting their professional growth. That is something I continue to do at BPM Company today.”
Talent development
“In my role, it’s important to truly understand someone’s potential and to link that to realistic, future-oriented growth plans. It’s partly a coaching role, but also firmly operational.
Client contact is essential in this. That’s why I spend one day a week on site with clients. I want to maintain a clear view of the people, the teams, the dynamics, and the issues at play. Only then can I genuinely help colleagues grow.
Sometimes it’s very concrete: helping people realize they’re capable of more than they think. Encouraging them to take on roles they once believed weren’t meant for them. Showing them they don’t have to limit themselves. The most rewarding part of my job? The moment of breakthrough—when someone surpasses themselves and gains confidence in their own abilities.”
Why BPM Company is the right fit for me
“BPM Company is a great place to work. The scale is exactly right for me: large enough to work on a wide range of intellectually challenging projects, yet small enough to allow for genuine, personal attention. I’m also very drawn to the mindset: informal, professional, no frills, no politics. It’s a professional organization with colleagues who are well matched and eager to learn from one another. Ambitious, strong in expertise, and focused on quality. On a social level, there’s also a lot of interaction, which makes working here especially enjoyable.”
Outside of work
“Outside of work, I love spending my time with my family. I grew up in the Rotterdam area, then moved to Leidsche Rijn, and for the past ten years I’ve been living in Werkhoven. There, my wife, our three young daughters, and I have a bit more space. At the weekends, I volunteer as a coach on the football field at Aurora in Werkhoven, where all three of my daughters play. It’s always a highlight of my week!”
