Meike Koster

Marketer at BPM Company

Meike: “I have now been working at BPM Company for over a year and a half. Before that, I studied Commercial Economics in Rotterdam, with a minor in Psychology. Those two fields complement each other well—after all, marketing is about understanding people, what motivates them, and how to capture and retain their attention. I still apply that combination on a daily basis. I originally applied because I came across a vacancy that genuinely excited me. Shortly afterwards, I was contacted by one of the recruiters, who was very enthusiastic. Just two days later, I was invited for an interview. The entire process moved quickly: within one to two weeks after applying, I was able to start.”

Allround

“My role within BPM Company is very broad. From online and offline communication to social media and events, I’m involved in it all. From day one, I was given a great deal of responsibility. I report directly to the CEO and was trusted to take ownership of projects and shape them from the start.

There is real space for my ideas. A great example is a large event we participated in at TivoliVredenburg. I was not only responsible for the execution, but also for developing the entire concept—from the approach to the branding.

Also my involvement in refreshing our website went far beyond a purely operational role. That website refresh was highly strategic in nature. We asked ourselves fundamental questions: what do we want to achieve, which goals are we pursuing, and how can our online presence help us get there? Those kinds of questions are what make the work especially enjoyable for me. What I enjoy most is coming up with and writing content. That’s where I really get to express my creativity.

Marketing for long term

“I am increasingly focusing on the long term. How can marketing contribute to the organization’s objectives in the years ahead? Which strategic choices do we need to make? I want to develop into a “super marketer”: someone with deep expertise and experience, who adds real value through knowledge and insight. In the longer term, a management role appeals to me. I enjoy guiding people and helping them grow. At BPM Company, that ambition is supported. There is genuine room for personal development.”

The personal approach at BPM Company

“At BPM Company, you are not just a number. You are seen, heard, and approached on a personal level. Colleagues are friendly, the atmosphere is positive, and people are genuinely supportive. You notice this from the moment you join: you feel welcome and are immediately given the opportunity to learn and grow.”

Outside of work

“In my free time, I stay active by running or going to the gym. Photography is another hobby that allows me to express my creativity, and I also enjoy spending time with friends and family.”
